I started painting seriously since 1987, while studying at the MARA Institute of Technology, Shah Alam. For 20 years, I work on to become abstract painter, and where I am now, my effort definitely pays off.

‘Wall Series’ produced after the visit to the Great Wall (Beijing), China in June 2008. History, bravery, pride and wall textures give thousands of inspirations to me. These factors encourage me to express my admirations towards its history of existence.

Red is the main colour on the surface of my painting embellished with the coarse textures of the wall. Acrylic is applied as the first layer colour. It is completed and finished with oil colour, a medium that has been my favourite for the past 20 years. Every painting is my masterpiece. Each of them has its specialty in terms of colour, texture or composition that undergo through a very long process of development of ideas.

Wall Series is different from Movement Series (1995 – 2005), a 10-year moving experience. The new series is energetic and red hot, stupendous with its texture that neither new nor old.

With participation of more than 500 group exhibitions, local and overseas, my paintings travel to countries like the United Kingdom, USA, Denmark, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, Brazil, Cuba, Spain, Canada, China, Japan, Argentina, Greece, Poland, UAE, Australia, Bangladesh and Nepal.
